FOR SALE Bruce Hamlin .45, 38" Swamped Rice Barrel, Round Bottom Rifling

Although it resembles a Kibler Woodsrunner, this is actually a custom rifle crafted by Bruce Hamlin of Florida. It weighs approximately 7-3/4 lbs and features a 38” barrel with round bottom rifling. The bore is in excellent condition, and the Siler lock sparks reliably. The overall length is...

🙄 Haha! Thanks, man. If I hadn’t developed a complete and utter infatuation with flintlocks I’d be hanging onto it.

    Fly Removal?

This guy’s an old timer, waksupi, and he’s been heavily steeped in black powder for longer than I’ve been alive— he’s even got a couple of bison mounts that he took with his muzzleloader some 30-odd years ago. Fly Removal?

    Fly Removal?

Update: I actually ended up reinstalling the fly. While it was marginally too short to be effective with the tumbler in its initial configuration, it did appear to operate correctly after I chamfered the half cock notch.

    Fly Removal?

Yeah… I don’t know. I spoke with him yesterday, and he claimed he tested it— but to what extent? The issue was intermittent, so a mere trigger pull or two wouldn’t be sufficient in this case. The guy’s a national champion shooter and had excellent feedback, so I hate to incriminate him, but the...

    Fly Removal?

Thanks for all your assistance, everyone. I believe the fly was simply too short to be effective. I attempted to change its angle in order to alter its engagement but was unsuccessful in doing so. I ended up removing the fly, which caused the sear to hang up at half cock, so I chamfered the...
