Offering this deal as it sits. Lowering price. This is a real solid, well used .45 Leman style percussion rifle with Bill Large barrel and HW Robbins lock. He made quality locks in the 60s and 70s. His springs were forged rather than cast and most of the internal parts were machined instead of cast. The rifle has obviously been well loved, read used. The finish on the 31.5" barrel is worn with some minor scratches and splotches. Bright, sharp rifling. Stock is a plain Maple with typical Leman brass fittings. Has a 13.5 LOP. crack at lock bolt easily repaired with small drill bit, metal or wood pin and wood glue. The toe has a crack that is well held together by buttplate and toe plate. Another easy fix. A couple of minor flaws along wood/barrel line. Nothing heinous. Rifle weighs 8.75 lbs. Price set at $650 + Shipping. A solid deal.

what width across the flats? would hate to see a Large barrel rebored unless its super benchy weight

Barrel is 1" across flats. Not overly heavy. I think folks just aren't interested in a .45. I hate the thought of boring it out, but a .54 would attract more interest, with caveat that it would then be more of a Large barrel with a Hoyt bore.

I agree, opening the bore to .54 or .58 would make this vintage rifle lighter to pack & much more desirable for big game hunting !!
