Got to shoot my .36 today.

Beautiful gun! How many grains of powder were you shooting?

    candle lantern

Saw one go up in flames at a rendezvous. Fortunately, it didn't catch the tent on fire. Very nice work on yours! Nice holster and belt.

    Kibler SMR mysteries

I had problems with the set trigger on my 45 SMR too. I have a 45 in the "old" configuration- a 46 inch barrel. I can see the sights on that one, and I"m in my late 50's. My 36 cal SMR has the shorter barrel and the sights are less than optimal. I need to change them out, they are just too...

    Shooting the New Trade Gun

Nice gun! Make sure you have a consistent cheek weild and site picture before you change the sites or bend the barrel. Looks like you have the horizontal placement on, just play with your site picture a bit to shoot higher. Now, I'm assuming you don't have a rear sight.

    Wax,,,oil,,,???

I second the Feed-n-Wax. I use it as a finish on my carvings as well as my gunstocks. Gives them a nice durable finish. Never thought to use it as a patch lube.

    Hammer blowback

It's a hunting load. I'm using it for PA's opening day of deer. It really is a great rifle, on that list of guns I would never sell.

    Hammer blowback

Shhh, don't let the ATF hear that! I can hear it now. "Large caliber military assault rifle modified to a rapid rate of fire"

    Hammer blowback

Just ordered a couple new ones from Track. Thanks again for the help.

    Hammer blowback

The nipple is fairly new, but it does have a larger hole in it than the original. Was supposed to provide more sure ignition. Guess I'll change it back to the old one. Thanks!

    Hammer blowback

I took the Mississippi Rifle out today. It's a 54 caliber Euroarms version, and the load was 70 grains of FF, .015 patch, and a .530 round ball. The load is a bit tight in the bore, but its accurate. I'm noticing that the hammer rebounds back to half-cock after each shot. Is this a problem?

Finally "finished" my Traditions Kentucky kit.

Looks good! Will be looking for the range report.
