Pedersoli muzzle cap screw part number M70TFC5822

Anyone know where I can find one of these without buying from Pedersoli directly? They require a total greater than $50 to complete an order... I do not want to pay $50 to get a screw...

    Pedersoli Kentucky Pistol sights

Hello, I'm in the process of obtaining a beautiful example of a Pedersoli Kentucky pistol in maple from a forum member. Like many, I believe the factory sights are huge and just don't look quite right. Has anyone replaced them? I'd like to see how different blades and rears look on them, thanks...

WANTED .54 Pedersoli flintlock Kentucky pistol or similar

Howdy folks. I'm looking to get into my first flint pistol, I want to skip the Traditions experience (fall in love and want to upgrade immediately, this spending more than is necessary) so this time I will aim a little higher from the start. Let me know what you might be sitting on, completed...

New products from Kibler, gun case/ship-next-day restock, and Fowler update.

Just got an email, that vise looks enticing. Sorry to disappoint about the update that isn't actually an update I just had to jerk your chains.

    Finally shot my Colonial .54

Had an absolute blast! I'm going to shoot a bunch more to get familiar with it before I decide on a load and fiddle with the sights any. Lock was fast an reliable. Targets represent 50 yards from a rest using 3f Scheutzen, .530 ball, and .17 #40 drill cloth patch.

    My balls are wrinkly ;)

First time casting, it was fun! I'm not using a thermometer, am I not getting the lead hot enough? Mold too cold? Does it really matter if they have some wrinkles? They feel fairly smooth but the shine makes the imperfections really obvious visually.

Shout-out to FlinterNick for getting my Chambers tuned up

Just wanted to publicly commend @FlinterNick for his work tuning up the Chambers lock on my Colonial. My frizzen spring was pretty strong, but he fixed it up, polished up the internals, and hardened the frizzen (I love the color!) Photos of the completed rifle will come soon once the weather...

    Renaissance Wax and fingerprints.

Howdy all, I applied renwax to the barrel of my colonial while I decide if I want to blue or brown it. Problem is, I'm still getting a ton of fingerprints on there. Did I apply too much? Did I buff too hard and remove it all? Should I strip it and start over? Kind of confused as I tried to use...

    Completely giddy about this stock!

Sanded and whiskered at 320, one light pass at 400. One coat tannic acid from Kibler. Two coats iron nitrate from Kibler. T&T varnish oil applied with a maroon scotch pad. Wiped and buffed with microfiber towel. Cannot wait to get some more t&t on there again this evening.

Thinning tried and true varnish oil, turpentine not available.

Are there other thinners that will work, straight turpentine doesn't seem to be very available. Using on top of iron nitrate if it matters. Thank you.

Phrases and sayings born in muzzleloading that we still use today.

Hey folks, I had a thought, there are probably a lot of phrases we use today that were born in muzzleloading, so I thought I'd ask the forum to see what phrases they know. Things like: "Flash in the pan" when describing a brief period of intensity that leads to nowhere ie. Relationships...

Kibler round faced lock drill/tap size?

Howdy guys, I have an older kit where the lock is not pre-drilled, before I continue with the kit I'd like to verify the sizes I need. Thanks!

Anyone have photos of finished Colonials with barrel and lock left in the white?

Howdy, I'm eagerly awaiting my Colonial kit to arrive and am still undecided on how I want to finish the barrel/lock. I can find plenty of blued/browned examples, but not much with them left in the white. I've tried searching but Im either not using the correct terminology or there is too much...

Question about self priming and unreliable ignition.

Hello all, I read somewhere this morning that there is a chance that if your rifle self primes, that there may not be powder right behind the flash hole and this can cause unreliable ignition or a flash in the pan. Can't for the life of me find that thread again unfortunately. I'm using a...

    Good old Traditions Kentucky.

Howdy folks. I took my time slimming down my rifle while my lock was out being tuned up (Thanks @FlinterNick, sparking reliably now!). I removed the "belly" from the forestock and scraped some from the sides: Then tried my hand at carving away from the flat around the lock mortise. Not super...

    Traditions lock reliability improvements?

Howdy y'all! Pretty new to the BP world and am soaking up great information from the forums, it's all greatly appreciated! The rifle in question: Now onto the meat and potatoes. I recently completed my first kit from Traditions and while I know it's bottom of the barrel stuff I'm having a...

    BP establishments in southeast Indiana?

Howdy y'all. I live down between Lawrenceburg and Brookville, Indiana and am curious if anyone knows of any shops that have a decent collection of black powder related goods. I'm new to all of this and would love to find small places to support instead of shopping online or big box stores...

Finally "finished" my Traditions Kentucky kit.

I put "finished" in quotations because I want to smooth out the stock by the tang, can shave down another 1/8" off the top and I want to replace the tennon pins with brass or put brass tacks in to cover the holes/prevent the pins from coming out. Overall I'm thrilled. Barrel browning isn't...
