I've been a musician all my adult life, sometimes supporting that vocation with more financially remunerative occupations during the day. Since 2004 I have been teaching at the Americana Music Academy, Lawrence Kansas, instructing banjo, finger picking guitar, and old-time contra dance style fiddling.
I got interested in muzzleloading back in the early '80s after reading Foxfire V. With the purchase of a Dixie Gun Works Tennessee Mountain Rifle, I was hooked. I've been fascinated by flintlocks ever since. My current passion is early 18th century French trade guns.
I live with my wife Patrice, in Lawrence, KS. I am a member since 1985 of the First Santa Fe Trail Plainsmen Muzzleloading Rifle Club.
