Is there anyone out there that can make a barrel for a muzzleloader rifle?

They’ll make whatever you want! As will Bobby Hoyt - his contact info is posted on here all over the place - search. As will Charlie Burton, here: and I just had Jason at Rice Barrels make me 2 custom barrels in all respects and the process was soooooo easy.

Rich: Great question! This one appears not to be twisted, but it is also Edgerton’s passage on Indian barrel making that is now most curious.

Twisted Barrels - I don’t believe these are twisted Damascus barrels at all. The description in Edgerton’s book is that of long parallel ‘straw’-like lengths of steel wrapped longitudinally around a mandrel and then hammer forge-welded to become one homegenous steel. How much to file the front sight

BARREL BENDING FWIW I’ve successfully bent rifle barrels when desired not to move the sights way out of kilter … full octagonal & part oct/part round. IMPACT FORMULA The 'Formula' is relationship, where 'A is to B' is the same as 'C is to D'. This is expressed as A/B = C/D, where: A = The...

I don’t think of them as being Damascus forged as in ‘Layers’, as the method described in Lord Egerton’s book is akin to long ‘straws’ of metal aligned side-by-side and forge welded around a mandrel. Spiral-wrapped that barrel certainly not be … she was some damn TOUGH steel!
