    Handgun Questions

I had a 1986 proofed ASM 1860. It was a fine shooter, every bit as good as my much newer Uberti. Don’t let anyone tell you they’re junk. And as @SOLANCO says, just shoot them. Or put another way, are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

    Remington ID

FWIW - it looks like laser engraving to me.

Williamson Arms Griswold & Gunnison Reproduction-Anyone Heard Of Them?

At $275 you would have been a sucker to pass on it. Great deal with all the accoutrement and a nice gun.

Frustrated - Hopefully just the growing pains of a newbie

I’m not familiar with Nevrdull but I’m wondering if there’s an advantage to using a metal polish on a bore that’s in good condition anyway?

    Historical Accuracy!

Well it’s a “muzzleloader” so you pour 80 grains down the barrel, of course. Everyone knows that. 😄

    Lead could dissolve a marriage

I’m jealous of everyone who still has a wife, for better or worse. Mine died four years ago after nearly 43 years together. Reading y’all’s comments brings a lump to my throat. I’d gladly give up all my muzzleloading stuff and anything else to be able to have her with me again. Be grateful for...

Some Eye Candy : Cimarron 1860 "McCulloch Colt" Anyone Else?

I’m a bit late to the conversation, but back to the OP - here are my two. Top is a Colt 2nd Gen, bottom is an Uberti.

    Colt 1860, 2nd gen

Point taken. I am pretty much done collecting Colts. I don’t have all models but I have what I wanted. They’re for lookin’ at. I’ve kept the Ubertis for shooting.

    Show your Muzzleloading gems.

I have nothing as fine or unique as many of the beauties that I’ve seen in this thread. I mostly collect and shoot ACW era military arms, but I am fond of this Mowrey Allen & Thurber that I acquired from another forum member a couple of years ago. It’s purdy and accurate.

    Lead could dissolve a marriage

Based on the thread title I thought the lead in question might have been directed at one’s spouse through the barrel of a gun. I can’t think of a faster way to end a marriage. 😬

    Colt 1860, 2nd gen

I first bought the lowest priced reproductions I could find, then as I learned about different manufacturers and differences in quality I started trading up for what I believe are the better reproductions, i.e., Uberti, Cimarron, Taylor. Now I’m starting to trade up again for 2nd Gen...

    Starr revolver discoveries

Greetings All. This thread is for anyone fond of obscure but probably useless information regarding an iconic revolver of the ACW. But it's a Sunday and the weather isn't great so why not. Join me to nerd out for a bit... I have an original Starr double action revolver and Pietta reproductions...
