I've been hunting and shooting since I was big enough for my "ol' man" to drag me through the woods. He would hunt or trap anything with fur or feathers. Shooting sports are in my blood.
I bought a T/C Renegade (.50) in a department store sporting goods section for $187.00 in the mid 1980's and it is my favorite gun in the cabinet. I use German airguns, cap & ball revolvers, trapper pistols, rifle, shotgun... if it goes boom I respect it. Trigger time is what thrills me.
I've always wanted a collection of smokepoles, but being dirt floor poor, it's not in the cards. I shoot what I have and cast my own rounds. I love shooting round balls, but the 1:48 twist seems to be more accurate with maxi-balls. Not the most traditional I recon, but it's still a sidelock, percussion instrument from a far away time.
Don't try to sell me on fiber optics and scopes...it ain't the way Dan'l done it !
