I make no apologies, I like this flavor of competition and the main reason is it's a team competition. Not only that, the team can have multiple generations of the same family on it. For me 2021 was a bit rough as I almost lost my dad twice, first from a severe bleeding ulcer and then a stroke. He bounced back enough to get on the firing line for 2022 and my son was able to join us for 2022 Fall Nationals. We had a good time together and he got to shoot with "Pawpaw" on the line in the heat and quick pace of musket and carbine competition. I'm not sure how dad is going to do in 2023 since he's had a heart attack and is now thinking of stacking arms and shooting only his camera from now on. So this was a special competition weekend for us. So a few pix (or it never happened😁)

I think we have enough time to get some sliders and go sutlering before the artillery match.

Last minute strategy and father/son smack talking before the smoothbore match. I'm shooting a repop 1842 Macon in 69cal, he's shooting an original 1819 Potsdam conversion in .71. Something must have worked, our squad cleaned the array and my son and I accounted for 9 of the 12 hits.

In the calm before the storms, we got him some trigger time with all the guns. He still has it. Ever since he learned to shoot, he's been darn good with a rifle offhand. He's shooting a "Zoli"
