Kibler screwed me

Bad thread title! Those who don't read it will get the idea Kibler is unreliable.
Anyone looking for info on Kibler is going to open it up. They’ll want to know what he’s ‘screwing’ people on. I get it, but at the end of the day it won’t do much, if any at all, damage

OK! It's unscrewed. Kibler's little freebies are #1 Phillips head screws. I could only find a #2 bit for my drill, so I finally found my #1 screwdriver and took the little boogers out slowly by hand. If you're expecting a box from Kibler plan ahead and have a #1 driver on hand. Don't get frustrated trying to use the more common #2 kind.

Pictures tomorrow when the light is better. For now, the cherry stock is perhaps a tad darker than most. I'd asked for a darker one. Cherry does vary in shade. There is a bit of stripe showing in the butt. It's difficult to say how well it will show when finished. I plan to "stain" the stock with UV light, and not try to water board it with lye and goop. Authentic HC/PC UV light, when you can find it, is the best finish for cherry, and I have a big supply of it on hand, in fact more than I'll need. I'll sell some of the extra for cheap if you're interested

Here are pics. I only shot it in the butt. Y'all have seen full length pics of kits before.

The tight shot shows what looks like oily smudges. This is the figure in the wood. There's not a lot but it is something I can work with.

The wider shot shows the trigger guard, which is rough and will require work. The butt plate is polished and installed. You'll see a black knob in the shot. It is on a range rod taped to the barrel.

Im leaving everything as packed for now. When my workbench is cleared I will start on the kit.

Be thankful for all the screws!
I received my woods runner rifle that I ordered on July 7th, 2022 on Monday January 23rd. The postal Carrier had to come get me because the Box was so damaged at the bottom of the box and was nearly half off! The top of the box where the screws are on the top was just fine.
I contacted Kibler and they asked to let them know if anything was missing or damaged. Due to the fact that Kibler takes such great care in packaging all of the materials that are in the box the rifle and everything arrived and nothing was damaged except for the box. All of the parts in the box are actually wrapped, taped shut and glued to the bottom of the box. If they had not been I could have lost a $300 lock, the sliding wood patch box cover, or some of the additional items that I had ordered. I know Kibler would have replaced any of the items that were damaged or lost but this just drives up cost for everyone.
Again, be thankful for the screws!
Happy building!

Congratulations! I am almost as excited as you are! I’m on tap to receive one in March. Looking forward to seeing pictures of yours, as I too, ordered a cherry stock. I’ve built maple, and walnut stocked guns but never cherry. Hope I haven’t made a mistake in the wood choice. Give it a day to rest and open it with glee AND battery power tomorrow!

If you remember when was your order date? I’m trying to get an idea of when mine might arrive, but I don’t wanna be one of those when is my gun shipping emails when they’ve probably received more than a hundred of

I ordered in July, so it took 6 months. However, Woodsrunners weren't available to ship in July, they were still a ways from full production. They might move faster now.

I believe I read an individual said on here they ordered in early January and it was to be expected somewhere around May or June.

kcullers,
That frustrates the bejeebers out of me!! That CANNOT happen by accident. That was stapled and glued. That was intentional. I know nothing will come of it if USPS is involved, but DANG I hope they get a lot of their own mail in that shape!!

So as I continue to read I am having trouble finding the screw over. Exactly what was it?? I have a hand that the thumb locks down on occasion and I can still use a screwdriver and woods tools. I am current working on a Kibler SMR, and I just take my time and feel the material in my hands. So help me out here where is the screw over??
