Restored a TRS 1728 lock for a gentlemen.

Refaced the frizzen with a 1095 shim, TIG welded.

Welded up orphaned screw holes, there were three around the mainspring area and frizzen spring area.

Case hardened internals.

Mainspring was broken, the rifle shoppe’s mainsprings were not used on this lock for an unknown reason, an Italian made bess mainspring was used, so i made a new mainspring to match the present geometry. Mainspring is made of sheet 6150 steel.

Bridle was missing an integral pin, the tumbler was slagging because the sear and bridle screws were not straight, straightened those out, and added an integral pin, lock is smooth now.

Polished up to 800 grit with die maker stones.
