Offering an exquisite copy of a Kuntz rifle by Wayne Watson. This gun is in unfired condition. Watson is a master of the craft and the gun is absolutely gorgeous.
Barrel is 44-inches and is octagon to round with a browned finish. The 50 caliber bore is as new. Barrel is wedge-pin fitted with 4 escutcheons to a curly stock stained dark brown. Fancy thimbles and entry pipe hold a tapered ramrod. Stock between entry pipe and trigger guard has a large brass wear plate. Wrist has elaborate checkering. Wonderful patchbox with a hidden release in the toe. All of the brass is engraved. I'm assuming Watson made most or all of the furniture to copy Kuntz's work. Photos hardly do the gun justice.
I had the lock tuned, a white lightning vent installed and the face of the breech polished by Brad Emig at Cabin Creek Muzzleloading. I fully intended to shoot this one, but a new owner will have that pleasure.
Overall 58 1/2 inches, LOP is 13 but the gun does have a fairly significant drop. I normally feel most comfortable around 14 LOP, but this one handles and shoulders quite well for me. The cannon-style barrel reduces a lot of front end weight. Gun weighs in at a trim 7 pounds 14 ounces.
Premium collectable gun by a famous maker. Asking$7000 $6500 $6250 shipped in the USA. PM for details.
