"Side hammer muzzleloader" covers a whole lot of territory. Ya might have better luck if ya narrow it down a bit as to caliber, percussion or flinchlock, size/length/weight of gun, intended purposes, etc. etc. etc.

This is the type of side hammer I am looking for

I think I have a Dale Story side hammer lock in stores somewhere, if you want to build a whole rifle. Have to dig thru the parts pile...
L&R makes a mule ear lock which is interchangeable with the Durs Egg flint. If you find something you like in flint (Durs Egg) you could swap the locks & put a nipple in the touch hole. Also, the seer on the l&R lock trips vertically & the lock has a fly. Other mule ears trip horizontally requiring you to "put a pie slice" on the trigger to make the seer trip to the rear.

If you are still looking, I have a Mike Davis .40 cal. rifle with both a mule ear (side slapper) and a Durs Egg flint lock. Very nice shooter. Send me a PM if interested. steg49
