Hello, everyone. My name is Bob and I'm located near Helena, Montana. Sounds like an AA introduction...
I'm not really very experienced with black powder; I have a couple of cap and ball revolvers from when I thought I might do some Cowboy Action shooting and I've had a Cabela's kit rifle (percussion 45) for about 30 years that still isn't all the way put together but getting closer; just need to brown the barrel. I finally got going on it after Montana brought out a "Heritage" ML season some years ago and it sounds interesting (but brutal - Montana in December, ya know?). I figure the 45 might be just the ticket for deer in some weapon restricted areas around here. I'd also like to pick up something a little bigger, probably a flintlock in 50 or 54.
Guess that's enough. Hope to do some reading and learning.
Welcome to the forum, I’m in Helena as well. My name is Porter and I’m still learning the ropes around the muzzleloading space as well though I’ve spent half my life around muzzleloading (10 years so not much). It’s cool to see others in this area on here.
