I just received this new to me, Pedersoli .45 and am very excited to get it out! The brass was a bit in need of polishing so, I did that and wiped the stock down and she came out looking real good for a girl her age! This is my first .45cal as all my rifles before were .50's. Waiting on some shooting supplies from TOTW to go with her and hopefully will get some range time in. Unfortunately, she probably will not get any hunt time this year but, next year if all goes well, she's all I'll be hunting with.

She's right pretty alright

Very nice. Haven't seen one of those before. I'm in the market for a half stock .45 and wouldn't mind running across one of those myself. Cool rifle.
Thanks for the replies! She's amazingly light and sleek for being 53" long w/a 37" barrel. Weight is 7lb, 6oz. Reminds me of a Pedersoli Kentucky but, with a half stock. 1:48 twist from what I've been able to find but, not planning on shooting anything but PRB. I need to get me a .440 Lee mould as I have all the equipment to cast my own. If she shoots as good as she looks, I probably won't need anything else for the rest of my days.

Lol, you havn’t been at this muzzleloading long yet, have you?
Great rifle btw!
Actually I have but, in all honesty, I have not owned any upper end muzzleloaders. I.E. nothing that cost me more than $600. I'm now down to in rifles, a .32 Crockett, a T/C New Englander in .50 and now the Pedersoli. I have a couple .45 pistols on the way too. I think this Pedersoli Plainsman will be all I need. I am fully disabled so, cannot chase after elk anymore and for our Oregon Blacktails, the .45 caliber will suffice. They don't get big like some Whitetail do.

Edit: The only way I'd need another is if this broke down and I can't get parts for it. Which is a good possibility since it hasn't been made for a good while now.

Actually, I stand corrected. I had this TVM built for me back in '04 in .50 caliber. It was a real beauty but, I had something come up and had to sell it. That would be the highest paid one I've owened. 👍

Thanks my friend! Hoping to get out soon but, waiting on a few things and someone to go with. I don't like shooting alone anymore for safety reasons.

I have found that with muzzleloaders, sometimes its best to be alone while shooting. Less distractions. But if you feel you need someone there, then perhaps it be best.

At any rate, good shooting. Let us know how it goes.

That Pedersoli is a truly a beautiful rifle and I hope only good luck with it. That TVM you had is gorgeous and I would not likely have sold it, myself.

Believe me, I didn't want to but, a wife and 3 young 'ns came first over a material thing. A need arose and as we all know, such is life. :)

I think that may be why I've never got another real high end muzzleloader.

I hear ya brother. That's why I don't have a BP double barrel 20 gauge or a double barrel .50 rifle anymore. Sometimes stuff happens.

Hi there, writing from England
UK, I have one of these rifles but it has a broken front trigger spring, would you be kind enough to post a picture of the trigger mechanism, in particular the front trigger spring so that I can have one made as spares seem very difficult to find. Best wishes
