I put together a woodsrunner kit a couple of months ago. Turned out nice but the carving is driving me nuts.
I never use any oil on any of my BP rifles,. After cleaning I wipe them down inside and out with bear grease. I am old and do not want to change how I maintain my guns after 60 plus years of doing it this way.
The bear grease leaves a white residue in the carving that a brush will not get out.
If you zoom in on the picture you can see it.
I would just order an uncarved stock BUT this barrel in this stock shoots as good as any BP rifle I have ever owned, I hate to change it.
I suppose I could order a Maple stock and hope it still shoots great but I would hate to spend $600.00 and it not shoot as good.

What do y’all think
