30 year old Lyman .54 Deerstalker shooting T/C 450 gr Maxi balls over 90gr. Pyrodex RS with front groove filled with Bore Butter. Off my elbows on a solid bench at 50 yds. I pulled the 3rd shot with a slow cap, the rest fired normally. I have the Lyman tang peep and a target globe front. Dont let my elk friends see this!

FWIW, I chrono'd the load yesterday while reaffirming the accuracy, and it is only going 950 fps. Having taken an elk last year with it (at only 30yds) and not anticipating taking a shot at over 75 yds, I hesitate to up the load. While I would love to have it pushing 1100, I think the ME and penetration is enough at 950 to do the job. The only downside is the drop at 100 yds which will probably be about 12-14 inches with a 50yd zero. Contrary thoughts?
