Reduced. This is an interesting rifle restored and modified by the late, great Jerry L Harmon. Mr. Harmon was well known in NSSA circles for his work on Civil War weapons. From examination and input from others, this is what I believe I have. The stock and barrel appear to be from an original Model 1841 Mississippi Rifle. the lock seems to be one of Mr. Harmon's replicas of a Palmetto Armory rifle lock. It is stamped PALMETTO ARMORY S.C. and COLUMBIA S.C.1852. The barrel has been sleeved in correct .54. The stock has a couple of repairs that I believe are intended to replcate work done by field armorer to keep the rifle in service. As Mr. Harmon is not around to answer questions, this is speculation, based on historical precedents. The rear sight is also a Harmon product, based on research. Whatever it is, I am sure it would both stand out and perform for NSSA competition and reenacting. Cool Factor priced at $1150 + Shipping.
