Trades Considered. This rifle was likely built in the 60s or 70s by the late Judge H.E. Resley of Fort Stockton,Texas. While in a halfstock plains style, it is probably meant for bench shooting. It has a .50 32x1 1:66 barrel with excellent bore. Top flat stamped H.E. RESLEY and E.J. HALE. I assume Mr. Hale was owner. Resley rifled his barrels from Numrich or Douglas blanks. The rear sight is an adjustable target style. Front sight is a brass blade. The stock is kind of blocky, as is typical for bench guns. Forestock has a decidedly flat bottom. Wood is a nicely figured Maple. The trigger is a single set type. Lock from DEER CREEK. LOP is 13.25". There is a Texas shaped side plate. The rifle weighs in at 10.1 lbs. There are several threads on the forum about Resley. Just type H.E.RESLEY. Should be an excellent shooter. $575 + Shipping.
