The Olney Texas Mowrey rifles were very fine rifles when they came out.
The problem with them, they were little known, they were not Kentucky rifles, they were not Hawken rifles, they were not a popular name in the muzzle loading circles.
But they were every much period.
What they lacked in popularity they certainly gained in quality.
To many, if the gun was not a full stock it was some kind of freak.
Question: Does anybody still make the Mowrey action? It would sell!
We need more pictures and information on these fine rifles!
