Welcome, my brother lives in the NC mountains and buys his powder and supplies in Virginia. Thinking that it might be in Winchester, VA. I started using Hornady PA Conicals for deer, seems to do better at longer distances. GOOD LUCK
Bet he buys it at Back Creek gun shop at Fort Shenandoah, home of the N-SSA.

Hello from Buckingham Va. I’m couple of hours south of you. I use 70gr. of black powder and .490 patched ball with great results hunting and target shooting. You can order round balls from Track of The Wolf. Clark Brothers sporting goods is not far from you they have sold black powder in the past can’t say if they do now but give them a call it would be worth a try. Welcome and good luck!
Thank you!

Welcome.. what part of VA are you form..I live in RVA and can point you in the direction for a local supplier

Typically round balls shoot best. 3F black powder and percussion(#11) caps(try to purchase locally); adjustable powder measure; some sort of flask to carry powder; 'possibles' bag to carry all the 'stuff'; patches or patch material. Thicknesses vary and finding the right combination is the 'challenge'. Track of The Wolf (dot com) is probably the best source. Check U-Tube for informative, how to videos.
MAKE SMOKE💥
Thanks!

I live in NoVa, Fairfax County. (I know, it’s not REAL Virginia. I consider it Occupied Territory and I’m behind enemy lines). I’m familiar with Clark Bros in Warrenton and Green Top. Can’t wait to get back to both to see what they got! I’ll take any advice you can spare.

Welcome aboard, Andy. I’m down between Richmond and Williamsburg. The Olde Virginia Primitive Riflemen are having our 40th anniversary fall rendezvous in October- be a good time to meet some fellow shooters and maybe put that rifle through her paces.

Welcome from East Anglia, UK. Sadly, it appears that there is no muzzleloader that legally complies with the utter mess that is deer shooting here in UK. But I enjoy reading about the exploits of those who CAN do it. :)
