Discovered we had a local muzzleloader club when I started going back to the local range back in July. Well I finally managed to make a meeting, and was invited to the shoot they hold the Saturday after their meeting. Went yesterday and had a great time, wish there were more members, but having comradery with like minded folks was still nice, and the shooting, while nothing like the woods walks some get, was never the less fun and some of the targets were challenging, displaying my lack of proficiency with offhand shooting at distance. I shot my Dad's old TC Hawken with a Green Mountain PRB barrel, there were at least 2 fowlers, one a newly finished Kibler, one an Indian (subcontinent, not native), a Northwest Trade Gun, and a few other hunting arms, all sidelocks. I managed to hit every target at least once, some taking a couple of tries. Already looking forward to the next one.
