Hey Gang, I'm looking to recreate a Civil War unit called the Western Sharpshooters (66th Illinois) and they are described as having a shot bag covered in bison (Buffalo) fur, or sometimes described as bear fur. I'm hoping to equip a small unit of reenactors, so I'm wondering if anyone can think of a good way to purchase or make these affordably?
Also, since this unit',s equipment was inspired by actual fur hunting equipment of the time, I'm hoping you can share some images or links of antique bags like this so I have a good reference if I need to make some.
