Guilty of playing around with the hobby machines in the basement.
That block of cold roll steel that was left over from the project “My New Cannon Barrel” needed to be made into something.
After all they had the same DNA.

If only one person is to comment glad it is you. Your postings have shown with great pictures the Master Pieces you have made. Your work is impeccable and I admire your accomplishments. I am currently in the process of building three more of the Napoleons. It is a large task.
You are the only person I have ever heard about that can make a barrel with dolphins out of a block of steel. Now that is a true accomplishment!

How cool is that, err those? I've got two I've been working on for a couple of years. No machining required since the are a kit and a Frankenstein. Hope to finish them this winter when we go South for the winter.

@Rich44 in another post you said you are 80 yrs old. Starting with a piece of steel and some oak then seeing your final mortar you must have been machining and woodworking for 79 of those years. To quote the late Gunny, Outstanding!

There are a lot of mechanics that can put me in the back seat. On this forum the skill level is high; probably some saying you could do it easier this way or that. Or faster progress by doing things different. But I have accepted that fact, and am very grateful to the Lord for giving just enough knowledge and skill to make my life happy and fulfilling making things I enjoy. Luckily keeping my wants in check help a lot.
