To raise money to fund his first gun factory, a young 20 year old Samuel Colt traveled the country with leather bladders full of laughing gas. And put on demonstrations in local theaters. The money rolled in and soon the Patterson were on the market.

That’s helpful to the OP selling a gun. Believe I’ll wait for someone selling a powder horn before offering a cluttering comment on an item for sale.
The OP (Oren) is a personal friend of mine and we’ve been shooting black powder together for years. I don’t think I make “cluttering comments” on anyone’s posts.
P.S.; Do you really intend to begin “clutter posting” powder horn posts? Thanks for the heads up 😉

What is the object shown with the revolver?

Loading tool. When the barrel is removed the tool is inserted into the wedge slot in the arbor and the tool becomes a loading lever. Essential for reloading a Paterson. Also hard to find these days. (Ask me how I know.)

No intention of making disrespectful cluttering posts to a ‘For Sale’ thread, just an observation. From personal messages I am aware of a few members avoiding the Classified Forum simply because of all the comments and extra chatter that occurs. You know, ‘best gun ever’, ‘wish I had the money’, etc. Maybe time for a rule for the Classified, similar to rule 21, except it being one that was enforced. Again, just an observation.

And yes, personal friend or not, we both added clutter to the OP’s thread and I admit I was aware of the Classified Rule I broke, though it was to make point.

Classified Rule 21
Unless you are interested in buying the item or asking specific questions about it, comments about the offering critiquing it are not proper and will be deleted.
