i have a Kibler SMR in 40 cal. i just finished it has a great piece of fancy maple. unfired. the lock was completely dissembled for cleaning and finishing, i finished the metal by bronze tempering it. one of the ways it would have been done in the 18th century to a gun like this. it is hard to tell in the photos, but the metal has a slight bronze huge to them. the photos do not do this gun justice! if you want any close ups let me know. the maple was done with 3 coats of my ferric nitrite, three coats of lye wash, 7 coats of thin chambers oil and sealer. $1950 shipped in Kibler box insured,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
