An impressive and comprehensive thesis by the curator emeritus of the Royal Armouries. He got his bachelors degree in chemistry in 1968 and ,after an amazing career, received his Ph.D. in 2020! His insights are especially rewarding ... well worth spending many hours reading. Thanks for posting !!! here's just one example
