For sale is this Navy Arms "Zouave" 58 cal rifle. Don't know a lot about these rifles other than what my research has provided. I believe this rifle is a reproduction of what was called the "Remington Contract Rifle" or more commonly known as the "Zouave". It's the two band rifle, not a musket. This particular rifle was made in 1973 by Antonio Zoli. I have never fired this gun. I took it on trade for another firearm. The bore is excellent with no pitting or blemishes. There is no rust, pitting, or scratches anywhere on the metal other than one very small spot where the blue is worn. Area around the bolster shows no erosion/rust, the musket nipple appears to be original & the threads in the bolster appear like new. The stock has no chips, dents or cracks & the brass hardware has a nice patina. It has an extra #11 cap nipple & a worm in the patch box. Both appear to be unused in like new condition. Every physical aspect of this rifle indicates it has been fired very little & very well taken care of. When I cleaned the bore there was a brown substance on the patches, but it is NOT rust, but what I believe is residue from a preservative bore oil/grease the previous owner used. Bore light shows sharp rifling & NO pitting or corrosion! $500 or best offer! $50 shipped to your door. Zouave with date.jpg

If I didn’t already have one I would jump on this.
Better looking gun all-around than mine, and mine is as new.
I am holding out for an 1863 Springfield replica in really good shape, or a new one. They appear to be as rare as hen’s teeth.
I'm guessing that shop is in Iowa. Is Old Hawkeye still active? Sure hope so. Never mind. I went elsewhere, b/c no reply by 17 Sept '24.

Sorry I didn't get back to everybody. Been having some health issues. The rifle in this ad has been sold but another one exactly like it is for sale at a local gunshop I do gunsmith work for. It's in better shape & includes accessories. Kyle Nakamoto is the owner & he is the one holding the rifle I sold in the pic in his shop. Anybody interested in his Zouave can just email him. He is a legit storefront business and FFL holder. He doesn't know much about muzzleloaders, so if you have any questions give me a call or send me a PM & I'll try to get you answers. My number & Kyle's email are on my card. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this. If so I will delete.
