Unknown make 1863 Remington in 31 caliber. No markings anywhere on it. The barrel and cylinder are what I think are stainless steel. They will not take bluing.
Hammer pull is heavy although timing is good. Front sight fell off but is included. Have no idea how to reattach.
Asking $175 plus shipping. Buyers choice. Priority $9.95 or Ground Advantage TBD
Will do a partial trade for a Pietta 1858 Army.

Check it with a magnet, no stick=stainless.
Just means the barrel and cylinder were made with a 300 series stainless, kind of unlikely.
Magnet sticks to cylinder and barrel.
Barrel and cylinder could still be stainless, just made out of a 400 series stainless, a more appropriate choice for a gun barrel than a 300 series stainless.

I would guess you have a polished steel barrel and cylinder. I have never seen a stainless barrel and cylinder on brass frame cap and ball revolver, but that doesn’t mean they are not out there.

Maybe with no markings and unfinished steel, a kit gun? CVA sold them.

I have a CVA with polished steel and can be blued. This one doesn't accept the blue. Reason I thought it might be stainless. Could it be nickel plate? It also looks more shiny than the polished steel.
