I went ahead and ordered my self a dog eared brass trade kettle, even though my inner backpacker is cringing over the weight. The volume wasn't listed but the dimensions given where 4x7.5" which corresponds with other vendors listing for a 1/2 gallon kettle. What I got is a 4.375x8" kettle that holds around 11 cup of water which is .6875 gallons. So my question is: are there "smaller" 1/2 gallon kettles out there? Or are all the ones on the market right now over spec.? Thanks, Woody
