My sister is a wiz bang seamstress. I gave her a Korean war era wool blanket and she made me a fantastic pull over with a shearling lined, tall collar and hand warmer pocket, both of which are not visible in my pic. I'm an up and coming seamstress . My wife bought me a nice Singer heavy duty machine last January for my birthday. I've made some beanie hats, neck gaiters, side bags and a few custom fit rifle sleeves. Last Saturday I decided to take my skills a step farther. I bought another surplus blanket and made a poncho to go over my pull over, no pattern. It came out much better than I ever expected. I'm very excited for the really crappy weather to hit us. It's my absolute favorite time to hunt the north woods of Michigan.
Next on my to-sew list is a pair of wool bibs from another surplus blanket. Still have more to learn before I tackle that.
