New to the Muzzleloader Forum, but not completely new to the muzzleloader. I got my first percussion cap Cabelas (Investarms) .54 Sportized Hawken back in 98' and primarily use it and now the rest for hunting. I grew up (54 now) using single shots and lever action firearms as well as some cowboy style pistols. All using iron sights. Over the last 8 years I have really started paying more attention to the muzzleloaders, the history, and the Accoutrements used. I have one fault and that is I started out with and still using Pyrodex simply because it is readily available, and have actually had very good results. Some day I will venture out on the real BP, but find it not easy to get my hands on. I more recently started outfitting myself with more historical time frame clothing and accoutrements, and have made most of my leather stuff myself. I have found I very much enjoy the leatherwork and have dived in pretty deep with the shot pouches, making all my own for all my different needs as well as for friends and family, even sold a few to replenish materials to feed the addiction. I currently own and shoot all sidelock percussion firearms and again some day want to venture into flints.
Currently I own the following BPs:
Cabela's .54 cal Sportized Hawken
Dixie .41 cal Abilene Derringer
.32 cal Crockett Rifle
.32 cal Crockett Pistol
.45 cal CVA Kentucky Style Pistol
28ga Belgium shotgun (Monkey Gun)

I am always striving to learn and help out where I can
Look forward for MLF to be a great resource to do both learning and helping if I can. I am on numerous FB sites, as well as Instagram, but get discouraged with all the other garbage that comes along with that.

Safe and Happy Muzzleloading,
John
