I go to enjoy the camp. I have several relatives in and around Hecker, Waterloo and Collinsville, so I could stay with them but I would rather be in the camp. Hopefully there will be no soaking rains, been watching the weather forecast but it's still too far out to tell. making plans to be there. Will be camped closer to the road because we can pack out early Sunday without disturbing the camp. Listen for a guitar, squeezebox or mandolin sounds I will be playing one or the other throughout the weekend.
I always bring a few instruments maybe we can strike up a tune.

I got your spot at the Connor house for three days, are you camping the entire weekend?
Actually we're staying at the Conner House as well. The Quebec room became available after a cancellation. Not my favorite room but it beats running back and forth to Redbub. Still not geared up for a overnight "glamping experience" camping.

Well, I'm geared up for it but getting too old to do it... I'll see you there.
Oh , and by the way there are no bad rooms at that place.

Tis’ the Season…..

I manged to make it to the rendezvous Saturday. I didn't realize how big it was going to be! Spent about five hours walking around and still don't think we saw everything. Had some friends from St Louis with us so spent most of the time with them and didn't get to go on a woods walk. Still had a great time though! Definitely would like to go again in spring. Took a few photos. Have quite a few more.

@andy52 I attempted to find your spot but wasn't successful. Or maybe I did and just didn't know it.

Had to be there Friday for the team captain to register a team for the Woods Walk.

Missed my camp too.

Hmm, I think this may be a trap.

I was just hoping to tag along on a Woods Walk. Nowhere close to being ready to participate in one.

I saw a few others in red coats. One had a grenadier's uniform, I think, which also looked great. I have a courier du bois outfit started but seeing everyone else made me realize I need to step up my game!

Wanted to go back Sunday but had to head home.

Since you were dressed in Period clothing to go over the levy with a team, you could have done that. The important restriction is that you couldn't talk about what happened until all teams had completed the shooting. Ask the team captain and the scoring judges if you could tag along. Of course, no interaction with the team or the judging is permitted. We had about two children and three observes follow us.

Knowing that you needed to improve your clothing is a start. The reenactors I know will respond positively when asked about the hobby. Don't be afraid to talk to any of us. I was the Grenadier with the gray gaiters.
