It bout broke the bank, but I bought one at a woodcarvers show in Huntsville.

I have several. I asked this in another thread and the replies were that they were too small. They probably are if you're building from a plank, but I think they are fine for working on pre-formed stocks.

I use a farriers rasp. It calls for caution, but otherwise it's very useful.
I've been using one for years but as a decoy, bird carving tool, not a gun making tool. They work well but get yourself a file carding brush to clear it as it clogs up. It will work well in tight areas where you don't need max wood removed.

I use a NIcholson that I used to rough out self bows back in the day.
