Was lucky enough to get into a Fork Buck on public land this past Saturday, only my 3rd ML hunt this year. I spent a great deal of time this year getting proficient with a longbow so that has been my priority so far.

Started my sit around noon and this guy wandered in around 4:30 about 100yards out, eventually meandering towards me. Took the shot at around 50 yards and thats about how far he made it.

Took my 45 "southern" rifle out this hunt. that brings me up to 5 Flintlock deer and 1 Longbow deer. The year is far from over with more time for a few does and hopefully my first Pig.

Recovered the .440 round ball just beneath the skin on his opposing side

And not entirely on topic here, though I know we have some archers here. I got my first deer with a longbow back in October, 8 yard shot on public land and by far my biggest deer.

I missed 2 does opening morning back in September and hadn't been able to close the distance till this guy showed up. Never had a clue I was there 12ft off the ground. I don't remember even aiming in the moment but the practice payed off and I double lunged him and got my first Real bloodtrail.

Biggest bull I've seen in Idaho walks 10 yards away from me. I send the simmons through the air. It has to go through a bit of fireweed right in front of him....well, this was hidden in the fireweed.

Worst part was he stopped at 16ish yards and I had another on the string but didn't want to blow him up and run him downhill.....since I thought I just heart shot him.

That’s awesome! What a great season. I love those Simmons sharks! Taken quite a few with the tiger shark and now timber shark. Good times!

Cool trophy, but I know that wasn't what you were hoping for.
