Howdy and Welcome from The Woodlands!
Retirement gives you the time to do the fun stuff that you had no time for, back when you were punching a time clock. Also retired, I'm busier than I ever used to be.
We lived near Seminary Mall back in the mid '80's. The Stockyards still had a lot of the cattle pens intact, and the buildings still had the old painted ads for buggies and saddles on the backs. The big Swift and Armour buildings were still standing, and you could really feel the history throughout the area, especially along Marine Creek, behind the buildings. It was so cool, back then.
And that "Mall" wasn't there, much less the daily cattle drive.
Now, our oldest Son and family live off of 183. With a Grandson (3yo), we're visiting a lot more often. While visiting them on New Year's Eve, we could not BELIEVE all of the gunshots we heard! More than Houston! Maybe the Wild West really does still exist in Cowtown. Except that they have semi-autos, now.
Do you have a place that you like to shoot? Or a store for the things bp shooters need? I haven't been able to find any on our visits. With Ft. Worth's history, it's a shame that there aren't any.
