I have this shotgun sitting in front of me but in a lot rougher shape. Same exact engraving on locks, barrel and exact trigger guard. I just happened to find this pic on the net but no info about it. On the top of the barrel in gold is H. Zapett in Hamburg. It has a damascus barrel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, FVR.

If the peep sight is present on your specimen, and it also has a set trigger, as does the pictured arm, it may be a combination gun, with a rifle barrel and a shot barrel. In any case, if yours is a product of the same maker, it is a quality arm. The pictured specimen also seems to be unusual in several respects: there appear to be 2 nipples beneath the right hammer, and what looks like a lever forward of the trigger guard. Pictures of your specimen would be most helpful in determining anything specific about it.

Thank you for the additional photos. Your specimen is a double-barreled percussion shotgun by the same maker as that which you originally posted, but not the same model, judging by their respective features. The maker's name appears to be 'Zapff', rather than 'Zapet' in Hamburg. Yours was once a very nice gun by a quality maker, but is badly deteriorated, and probably beyond economic restoration or use.

Thank you for the info. I think this shotgun is of the wall hanger class. FVR
