Any word on if it was one of his personal firearms or was it also in any of the movies? Festus wants to know!
It was his personal gun, I don't believe it was in a movie. The gun you see in the beginning and end of every show went for $39,000. I still watch the re-runs every night. Google Gunsmoke Auction. The prices were higher than I thought!

nit wit you did very well buying the Ruger Old Army belonging to James Arness. Price was very reasonable. Also the Old Army was made in 1976 so it has the marking on top of the barrel "Made in the 200th year of American liberty". Congratulations!
