I believe this rifle was built in the 1970s. Hawken style with nicely browned W.M.Large .50 cal barrel measuring 32" long and 1-1/16" ATF with crisp rifling. Rifle weighs 10.8 lbs but balances nicely. 13-5/8" LOP
Seems to like 75gr 3f with .495 ball and ticking lubed with olive oil.
Beautiful curly maple stock with well defined striping. Brass patchbox has some green verdigris from a suede sling that I didn't want to clean for fear of ruining the even patina. Buffalo head inlay on cheekpiece. Inlays are not perfect and slightly proud of the wood. There is a slight chip adjacent to the forend cap, wich is attached to the barrel rib.
The Cherry Corners percussion lock doesn't always engage in full or half cock and this should be addressed before shooting. I shot it occasionally, only capping when I was absolutely ready to fire.
$800.00 plus shipping or pick up in Ocean City Md
