Hard to say. I'd expect the flash holes to go into the reduced portion of the bore, where the powder would be.
No, they shouldn't look that rough. I used to have a hone. After a couple of moves in the past 5 years I can't find that thing. I don't work on them enough to consider buying another. I have one for small bore engines but it's too big. My CVA has super shiny bores. As does my early 1900s break over. It has London twist Damascus. Has some light pitting in the bores but it shoots good. I shot many dove and quail with it. That's when I lived on a ranch. Now it mostly decorates my wall. As does my CVA and now this one.Guess i have not messed with a wall hanger before. Should the inside of a shotgun still look that rough? It still shouldn’t be a problem if the exit is smooth.
A buddy rehabbed an old smoothbore barrel using a hone ment for shotgun barrels. Normally my barrels are smooth if not shiny .
