I have a traditions Kentucky rifle and I’m wondering. What double set trigger will be a good option for it. I have one but a single trigger and I’d like to upgrade it.
Yoh are correct. Since the set trigger "flicks" the sear to release it, the fly is needed to keep the sear from catching the half cock notch. The lock will need to be changed. If I remember correctly,(that doesn't happen all the time) The tumbler on that lock does not have a fly. That can create some problems with set trigger.
You're such a bold dude!! That's why!!...... (and i don't know why this is coming in bold??)
Ok thank you. I do plan to make make a better flintlock, but I gotta kill something with this one firstYoh are correct. Since the set trigger "flicks" the sear to release it, the fly is needed to keep the sear from catching the half cock notch. The lock will need to be changed.

There was a little screw on this sear that made the trigger lighter. I was just wondering if a double set would fitIf you are having problems with a heavy trigger pull I may have a way to help but I need to see a picture of the trigger assembly to see if it will work. I took an old CVA colonial from an impossible trigger pull to about a 3 pound pull using the stock trigger.
I have one of those locks on an old pistol kit. May have an extra of that tumbler screw and spring would have to look tomorrow. They used a couple different trigger set ups and their is one that I can modify just the trigger to get a 2 to 3 pound trigger pull from the stock trigger with no changes on the LOPThere was a little screw on this sear that made the trigger lighter. What load do you use?you can trash the old trigger and buy a trigger from track of the wolf and pin it through the stock higher and it will lower the trigger pull as I did for my grandsons traditionsView attachment 367761https://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=73189.msg729835#msg729835
