When I went squirrel hunting the other day I learned that the ram rod for my Fowler was like driving a nail with my bare hand the last couple of inches. I have never noticed it with my deer rifles, most probably because of the adrenaline hit from shooting a deer.
I decided to make a palm saver. While I was at it I made one for all my rifles and a few other trinkets.
It made me jealous of the folks that own a small lathe but everything turned out with a hand drill, file and bench grinder.
I burned some of them with a torch because the antler was so old it had lost any color.

Much nicer that the one I made from a wooden ball from the craft store and some old stain I had laying around🤣

7° up on the NY border Buff. Make sure not to forget to pack your wool socks and Union suit!

NO PUN INTENDED BUT

The Artillery Piece powder measures are the BOMB! 😆 They have that little touch of artistic whimsy that one sees often in hand crafted 18th and 19th century items, which we today have lost.
