What is a pack parrot? I've never heard of that before.
A Pack Parrott is a short stubby version of a Parrott Rifle. It was carried on a mule. Here is a picture of one from a 1996 South Bend Replica catalog. Second gun down.

Here is a 1/2 scale Prairie carriage I made for one.

That Pack Parrot Zulu posted is a shooter. Well it has fired one shot. The load for a golf ballf is a bit too robust for a Rotometal cast zinc round ball.

THe next time it fires it will have a substantially reduced load.

What is the diameter and weight of the Zinc Ball?
Yep, that does look a little stout I would say.
The weight of the projectile does make a big difference.

Ball is 1.67" and weight about .60 lbs in zinc. It is close to the same weight as cast iron. Rotometals sells them from a mould I had made and lodged there. I don't think I am allowed to put up a link so you will have to google them. They have other cannon balls made from my moulds. Popcan 2.59" size and a 6PDR. THey also have balls for standerd size fitting Hern 2-1/4 inch bores and 1.003" for Inch bore guns with windage-bore 1 1/32"

Yes for blanks and golf balls the load I use is just fine. But zinc needs a much reduced charge.
