Hello guys, new to the sight, just getting into flintlock stuff. Found this horn and would like opinions of what the copper sleeve over the pour spout could be. My first thought is .... you pull the plug, put your hand over the end, tip up then back, replace the plug and what you have in sleeve is one measure. ?????

The end is open but not finished, I just bought have not received it yet. It's only about 10" long. Not sure about it being a horn, if so why spout inside... My plan was make a bottom and plug the inside spout. ????

Well I took off the copper pipe piece, and it's just a horn spout under it. There was a lip on the inside of pipe and would have been hard to make a consistent measure, so it's off and I will finish the horn the standard way. Q. Can Cypress wood be used for plug or is it too soft and porous?
