I have to buy mine first. I hope you understand. 🤔

Will be going to the Alifia River Rondevous?
Ok. I guess I understand. Haha.
I'm not sure about the rendezvous yet. Are you going?
The only time I went was a couple years ago and it seems like everybody was closing down when I was there. I thought I was going to be able to shoot one of the woods walk courses as a visitor. I couldn't find anyone to ask about it while I was there. I later found out you have to register ahead of time in order to shoot. And wear period dress I think. I'm very ignorant to the rules/processes as I've never been to a rendezvous before.
It was a fun visit and very interesting but it took me two hours to get there. I did buy a couple of things while I was there.

The Kiblers better put some fencing up around their property with "No Trespassing/Camping/Open Fires" signs, as eager fans will soon be assembling to await the Great Day of Issue!! :pIt will be like Woodstock II!

They're pretty hard to muck up even being stupid. Don't ask me how I know.
Unfortunately, there are lots of folks here which are lacking in mental capacity. Folks here at times are challenged just loading, shooting and cleaning.

On a fairly frequent time line, there are folks looking for someone to complete their Kibler kit. That says a lot in itself.

Yes I'm going. I found it best to go early on Friday. I won't mind dressing up, but I haven't bought any clothing.
Last year an ol boy that was a member told me members only, but you can come and shoot 1st Saturday of the month. I'm going to find out for sure. Maybe too late this year, but next year. I'd like to go on a Woods Walk.

I think I would have to refer back to "the Hawken book"...(its place in history) to get an idea of what wood ...I agree probably walnut would be most likely, but at the same time...I get bored with walnut. So then maple, probably a basic stock. Caliber...I have Lyman GPR in fifty and fifty four....I by far prefer the 50 for shooting...it is what I shoot in league, but it is a heavy bear. The 54 is what I hunt with, and is so substantially lighter...but then, the .58 would be so much more! And I sure do love my .58 Colonial.
