I have a question. Ive noticed some Pedersoli double barrel are choked. How do you load them. I had a CVA that was choked and it was a chore to get an over powder wad started. Since I did a lot of dove and quail hunting I got rid of and got one with no choke.

I just start the card sideways and the flared ram-rod end straightens it up as it transcends towards the breach.
Yes I do it that way with all shotguns. But the choked ones are not that easy and as fast. I had to use a short starter and pound it with my palm. I'm thinking maybe tow or something similar? Would it still pattern ok?

Don't use " over powder wads".
Just use overshot cards, a few of them.

You needlessly sold that gun!

OR you can make "paper cartridges" for the particular shotgun, but fill them with the pre-measured amount of shot, and insert them whole, ramming the entire package, paper and all down to the wad that is resting on top of the powder. They won't shift, they won't open and spill the shot, and when fired they will open inside the barrel(s) and the choke will do its job.

I mean I've used this and the only time I ever "limited out" on birds was using a Pedersoli 20 gauge, choked IC/Mod, and paper shot cartridges. So it apparently didn't hurt. Saved a lot of reloading time since I was with guys with breech loaders.

Get yourself the matching diameter of EMT at your big box store. cut about a 6 inch piece and sharpen one end to about a 45 degree angle. google a leather supplier, I use Leather Unlimited, buy a bunch of scrap leather pieces and punch yourself out leather wads. If all you can get is thin pieces, stack them up to get your desired thickness. no problem getting them through the choke.

I load my choked shotgun with two leather over powder wads, the first is undersized to go down easily the second has a hole punched in the center to allow it to compress .Then a paper shot cartridge with no over shot card

Well I got me a Navy Arms Pietta with two barrels. One is a 20" coach barrel. One for playing and one for hunting.
So I'm selling the Pedersoli .
