Bore brushing.
When I get desperate and use a brush and it freezes at the breech in a rough or pitted bore, I place a 1/2” drive deep socket over my brass range rod. I then use the socket as a slide hammer to free my rod and the brush or jag/patch from the rough bore.- Chuck Tiller
