My horn, a work in progress...

I agree, would be interesting indeed if it could tell what its seen and where it has been.

    Question about .32 cal....

Thanks for putting my mind at ease on this fellas, I would have went to a .36 if need be...but really want to go with the .32 cal. Crowkiller...thanks for the heads up on the 3/4" barrel, I was leaning in that direction also and you just confirmed it for me. Now if I can just decide on flint...

    Question about .32 cal....

For years now I have wanted to attempt a kit build from Pecatonica River. A Southern Mountain or Tennessee Classic in .32 caliber is what I have been lusting after for quite some time. My main question for those of you who have exprience with .32 cal rifles, especially in a long barrel type...

My horn, a work in progress...

This horn has a neat history behind it. It was a surface find along the Oregon trail. When it came into my possesion, it was extremely filty, and rough. The tip had been cut off and a hole drilled, but that was it. The butt end was still in its rough form and very rough and tattered. I debated...

Breathing life into an old T/C >50 Hawken...

Seems like everytime I try 2f powder things just fall apart. I dont care for the increase in the amount of shot to shot fouling that 2f leaves behind, making wiping between shots much more of a hassle, instead of an easy one time in and out I get with 3f...2f leaves behind so much fouling that...

Feels like a bulge but mics out ok ?

I agree with Zonie, a ringed barrel will not always cause an external bulge on the barrel. I have seen several ringed barrels that appear normal on the outside, even when measured with a mic. The accuracy may not be affected, or it may be completely gone...only way to find out is to shoot it...

    Ballistol

I guess I would call it a packet more than anything, dont worry you will get your moneys worth out of it. The most important thing is to follow the material inside to the letter for best results. I have no experience with the Deerstalker, but at the time I bought the system back in 2003, it was...

    Ballistol

Definately give Dutch's system a try if your looking for the ultimate in accuracy from your roundball rifle. Several years ago I highly doubted the claims and could not have been more wrong. Here is a target I shot with Dutch's system when I first tried it years ago. Needless to say I was...

    Dumb Ticking Question

I love the looks I get when I go into a fabrics store and pull out my micrometer and start measuring thickness on ticking material.

Breathing life into an old T/C >50 Hawken...

Thanks for the kind words to all. Anytime someone brings me a rifle that they say wont shoot Rb's I always start with different patching. Ive found that most folk dont understand how important a tight patch and ball combo is for accuracy. Usually they will go with the thinner patch because its...

Breathing life into an old T/C >50 Hawken...

Been lurkin around for a while, figure its time I make a post. I picked up an old T/C .50 Hawken some time back and finally got a chance to shoot it recently. I wasnt expecting much out of it, as the bore was pretty rusted...but, oily patches went down very smooth after a thorough cleaning, so...
