    Thanks y'all. I appreciate the ideas. I guess it might turn out useful after all. I think Silverfox especially might be on to something. After a long day in the woods, it might be handy to look in there and find a note saying "Go home already, it's dinnertime!"

    Stupid but true admission- I'd built a really nice hardshell shelter over a pier foundation that I intended to build a cabin on the next year. I even had a small deck/porch in the front. Too late, I'd realized that I'd left a couple of 16"/50' hickories too close for long term construction...

    OK, I'm a newbie, but not an idiot. I know it's for patches, but that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. Why single out patches, of all "possibles", for an inletted brass box in your gun stock? Why not just keep them in your bag? Besides, when I need a patch, the butt is on the ground...
