    hunting or possibles bag--patterns?

Yeah, I just bought 13 sq. feet of 8-9 oz. leather for my knife sheaths. Ouch! Harbor freight has some 5x7 canvas tarps for $15. They are 10 oz. fabric, but with some kind of waterproof treatment they come out closer to 18 oz. Wouldn't exactly be period correct, but would be good for...

    hunting or possibles bag--patterns?

I recycle whenever I can, so the used leather coat idea works great for me! I wondered about the 2-piece flap in the fowler plans. The only advantage I see is that you gain the decorative stitching, but if you use heavy enough leather a little line work would be a good substitute for that.

    Some knives I've made

Howdy fellers, I introduced myself up top at the Camp. I thought I'd introduce myself down here as well by showing some of the knives I've made over the past couple of years. I don't make many knives, but it's a hobby I enjoy. All are in 1095 high carbon steel. Here's a skinner I did in the...

    hunting or possibles bag--patterns?

Hello everyone, I'd like to try my hand at making a shooting bag. I've been looking around at a variety of sites to look at the variety of styles that are out there. I'm leaning toward an Eastern style bag, possibly with a beavertail type main flap. Are there any resources that have patterns...

    Damascus Blades

Hey Old Ford, If you are ever on Ebay, look for knife blanks made by Grand Leavitt or Two Fingers Knives. They are made here in the USA of good carbon steel. The rest are buyer beware, as they are often imported from India or Pakistan, where export damascus is often made with junk steel...

    Halloo at the fire!

Hello from Ohio, some of the frontier settled by Simon Kenton! I recently got back into BP shooting and decided I wanted to make my own possibles bag. In looking for information I stumbled upon your fire and decided to come on in and set a spell!
